Exposé videos and articles featuring sexual assault accusers making claims about powerful influencers, such as James Charles and “Durte” Dom Zeglaitis, have upended the YouTube landscape.

Now, a vigilante group that includes former Vlog Squad member Seth Francois and former “To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen, is aiming to further the phenomenon with a project called “Taking Our Power Back.”

But the project has gotten off on shaky footing, publishing an anonymous accuser’s real first name in connection with rape allegations she made privately against a former member of the Hype House, the buzzy TikTok creator house that will be the subject of an upcoming Netflix reality series. That accuser was not informed her testimony would be posted on any social media platforms, she told Insider.

A representative of the group told Insider the since-deleted post was a “wake-up call” and that the group member who facilitated the publication of the post that outed the accuser is no longer involved with Taking Our Power Back. The group’s representative declined to name the former group member who they said was responsible for the mishap.
